Green Peas Homemade Baby Food

Last week I introduced baby Sean to sweet potatoes and this week we will start on peas. This recipe will make about 6 servings (2 tablespoons each) Feel free to double up on this recipe and freeze the extras. This is a great way to be prepared for the following week.

  • 2 cups frozen peas or fresh if they are in season
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 formula or breast milk
Boil water in a small or medium saucepan. Add in peas and bring to another boil, cover, turn down heat and simmer on low for about 6-7 minutes. Cool for a few minutes add to your blender or food processor. Add formula/breast milk and puree until smooth. Add more or less liquid depending on the consistency you’re looking for. It’s totally fine to blend using the cooking water. Remember when you cook vegetables you lose so much of their nutrients so try to add it back into your puree whenever you can.
