I caught a press screening of The Odd Life of Timothy Green back in July and reviewed it on my blog. Unfortunately I couldn’t bring my family with me. As soon as I left the theater I couldn’t wait to share this movie with my family. I knew they would really enjoy it. For some reason we just didn’t make it to the theater to see The Odd Life of Timothy Green when it came out. Life must have gotten in the way or something? I really can’t remember why we didn’t make it. Just the other day I was greatly surprised when the UPS man dropped a copy off at my door. I showed my husband what we were going to be watching that night and he was quite excited.
My husband knew what this film was about, he’d seen the previews and of course I told him all about it when I got home from the screening. I had shared with him a few of my favorite quotes from the film and why they were so special to me. I still love this quote and say it often to my daughter when I drop her off at school.
Jim: “Have a great day.”
Cindy: “That’s too much pressure.”
Jim: “Have the day you have.”
Our 5-year old daughter even became interested in the film while we were watching it. JL crept out of her room and snuggled with me on the couch. She liked watching Timothy and the leaves that were on his legs. JL did ask a few questions which I didn’t mind answers. JL was mainly concerned with understanding why Cindy and Jim Green (Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton) couldn’t have a baby of their own. JL was also concerned with where Timothy (CJ Adams) went when he left after all his leaves fell off.
The Odd Life of Timothy Green is one of those movies you can feel good about letting your entire family watch. It will get you all warm and fuzzy and maybe a little tear will even drop from your eye? I cried like a baby. I like the odd fairy tale that this movie tells. The Odd Life of Timothy Green touches on everything that is happening today. Worry about the environment, job loss, and most of all couples struggling with infertility. Everyone will be able to relate to this film in some sort of fashion.
The Odd Life of Timothy Green released on Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack back on Tuesday, December 4th. Make sure to go out and pick up a copy, just in time for the holidays.
Disclosure: I was sent a free copy of this movie for the purpose of this review. All opinions expressed above are my own. I was not financially compensated at all for this post.

I saw this one on the airplane ride to Indiana. It was also playing on our second flight and my almost 5 year old wanted to check it out. Because I had seen it, I let her watch until she got bored. I really liked it. Very cute. Thanks for sharing your review!
We love this movie! It’s definitely made the holidays a bit more special around here.
I still have to see this movie! It looks so cute.
