For day 16 of the 31 day blog challenge I want to know what has been your biggest accomplishment thus far.
Mine is easy, my kids are definitely my biggest accomplishment to date. Besides my marriage, the kids are a huge accomplishment of mine. I’m so very proud of the little humans Sean and I created. They worry the hell out of me, bring me so much joy and I don’t think I’ve gotten a decent night’s sleep since August 26, 2007.
My sweet Jasmine girl – Born August 27, 2007
I had a very uneventful pregnancy with Jasmine. I loved being pregnant. I gained nearly 65 pounds with Jasmine, geez! I went for my normal check-up early Monday morning and when I walked in the house I felt my very first contraction. I labored at home for about 5 hours, then headed to the hospital. My clueless husband tried to carry me through the delivery dock at the hospital. Jasmine arrived at 7:48 pm on August 27, 2007. She didn’t cry. I actually don’t think she ever cried as a baby. Jasmine is a true blessing.
My little boy – Born August 1, 2011
My pregnancy with baby Sean was a not that great. I had to be hospitalized in my 32nd week for a rather large kidney stone. It was while I was pregnant with Sean that I started to notice I had a lack of circulation in my right leg which caused rather unpleasant looking veins to emerge. I wore a tight pressure sock for most of the summer, it wasn’t pretty, nor was it very comfortable. I also carried baby Sean very low and it was so uncomfortable. I remember crying at night because I couldn’t get comfortable, I wasn’t sleeping, and I had to pee every 5 seconds the entire 9 months. I just wanted him out. Killer heartburn would keep me up at night. Sean Christopher Cruz, II was born on a Monday also. He came into the world on a rainy August evening. He emerged at 8:48 pm. He cried like it was going out of style. Sean and his sister are complete opposites.
These kids are my life, they have both taught me so much and continually teach me things about myself.
I can’t wait to see what kind of people Jasmine and Sean become. I often wonder where their lives will take them. I’ll continue to encourage them to follow their dreams and reach for the stars.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young- Boy Dylan, Forever Young
