Day 17: Why & When Did I Start Blogging? – 31 Day Blog Challenge

It’s day 17 of the 31 day blog challenge.

It was way back in 2008 that I started blogging, so long ago.

Before I was a blogger I was an Etsy shop owner. Sometimes I would get an e-mail from a blogger wanting to feature my product on their blog, and of course they would ask me to sponsor a giveaway as well. I had never even read a blog before. I would visit the blogs that contacted me and I was amazed at what these women had done with their blogs. I was instantly hooked. I opened a blog of my own, on blogger in fact. I would use the blog to promote my Etsy shop. Eventually I got the hang of social media, too. My shop name was Nimbler Grove, it’s an anagram for November Girl. My birthday is in November so I though it was unique enough to use as a shop name. My blog was called Nimbler Grove, to match my Esty shop.

My Etsy shop wasn’t taking off like I had wanted it to so I decided to close my shop and build my blog. I had found a few review and giveaway blogs that I really liked and kind of wanted to be like. I grew my blog, changed the name to Fabulous Finds by Nimbler Grove and went from there. Eventually my blog was big enough that companies would send me things to review and in turn I would just post about them on my blog and share my posts through all my social media channels.

It was in 2011 that I wanted to take my blog in yet another direction. I felt a name change was in order, so I called the blog Fabulous Finds by November Girl xoxo. Super long, I know, but I wanted to changed it because everyone would always ask be what Nimbler Grove meant. I still did reviews but as my blog got even bigger I could be a little more picky with what reviews I would do.

Towards the middle of 2012 everything changed for my blog. I was accepted into Social Fabric, a social media shopper group, that pays very well. I changed my blog yet again, this time I changed it to what it is today Fabulous Finds by Tiffany.

Currently I’m trying to take my blog in a different direction. I don’t nearly as many reviews as I once did. I’m very picky about what I feature on my blog and I want to post more content than anything else.

I still hate my blog name. If I had my way I’d change it again, but I can’t. Because I don’t want to change this blog, again, I created another. My other blog is called Cleverness of Me. Maybe next month I’ll do another blog challenge and post it over there?
