IcyBite Keys from NubyUSA

Another fabulous teether toy from NubyUSA are these super adorable IcyBite Keys. I love the IcyBite Keys from NubyUSA so much because my 14-month old son has suffered through many months of sore gums and tons of droll. My son had it bad, his gums were very tender and nothing seemed to help. Sean’s first tooth didn’t pop out untill he was nearly 12-months old.

IcyBite Keys from NubyUSA

My son drooled and fussed non-stop for the better part of 6 months. Sean’s only relief came when he gnawed on his IcyBite Keys and other Nuby teethers. Sean likes the keys because they are small enough for him to hold and move around in his mouth. The coolness from the pûrICE™ really gave him much-needed relief.

We used and still rely on the IcyBite Keys as Sean is starting to get even more teeth further back in his mouth. Sean can continue to use this teether for a few more months, he finds relief when it’s in his little hands. Sean can bite on the Nuby name and the key ring itself for relief. I also like that each key has a different surface on it. I often find Sean rubbing the surfaces of the keys along his gum line.

A feature that I find amazing about the IcyBite Keys is this teether also features areas filled with pûrICE™. This teether can be placed in the refrigerator and the pûrICE™ will remain colder longer than water filled teethers! Recommended for ages 3 months to 18 months, great to give in a baby shower basket too.

I have these keys at his Nana’s house too, for when she watches him. Believe me, we never want to be without these.

You can buy now by visiting www.buybabydirect.com for only $4.99. The price is amazing, very reasonable.

Be sure to tweet NubyUSA just how much you love their amazing products. Use #Nuby hashtag too!! Nuby also loves their Facebook Fan Page, make sure to give them a like so you’ll be first to know of fun contents, giveaways, new products, and more.

Keep Your Child Hydrated with These 5 Easy Tips

Keep Your Child Hydrated

Keep Your Child Hydrated with These 5 Easy Tips

Last year I was having a hard time keeping my 5-year old daughter hydrated. I started noticing she wasn’t drinking enough when I noticed she never had to urinate during the day. Jasmine is old enough to remember me being hospitalized when I was 32-weeks pregnant with her baby brother. I was first admitted for a rather large kidney stone and later found out I was dehydrated. I tend to use that experience to scare her a little.

She remember me not being home and sleeping at the hospital, she missed me terribly. I tell Jasmine that if she doesn’t drink enough water and juice that her kidneys will be mad at her and will not work properly. Keep your child hydrated with these 5 easy tips.

These are 5 methods that work for me and my child. Every day is different, no two days are the same. I still have to keep on Jasmine to finish her drinks, but she’s worth the extra time and effort. Jasmine is using the bathroom more during the day, even at school, too. Her urine is not as yellow as it use to be so I know we are doing something right.

Before I knew better I would just ask Jasmine if she was thirsty, if she said no then I wouldn’t push it. After my scare with dehydration and my kidney stone I knew then and there that I didn’t want the same thing to happen to Jasmine. Last year I vowed to do everything in my power to keep my child hydrated daily.

Keep Your Child Hydrated with These 5 Easy Tips

1. I think the most important part of all of this is to educate your child about why it’s so important to drink plenty of fluids daily. If your child knows why they need to drink water then they might be more inclined to actually do it. And keeping water readily accessible to your children is very important, too.

2. Bring bottled water or a cooler packed with water and juices with you in your car. Always have water on hand.

3. Offer your child choices. Your child is more inclined to drink if they are drinking something they like. If you don’t feel like fighting with your child then by all means, allow them a choice. Although it so important that children drink more water than anything else, sometimes letting them choose is okay too. I pick my battles wisely.

4. Water down all sports drinks, sugary drinks, and juices with ice cubs or filtered water.

5. Create a chart or reward system for successfully drinking their recommend amount of water. Make finishing their water a game, keep it fun.

Water Recommendations

Since my daughter is in the 4 to 8 year-old range it’s recommended that she drink at least 5 glasses of water daily. That’s about 1 litre total. For children in the 9-12 year old range it’s suggested that they drink 7 glasses of water daily, about 1.5 litres. Tweens and teens should drink 8 to 10 glasses of water daily, nearly 2 litres.

There you have it, 5 easy tips to help encourage your child to drink more water and to stay hydrated. Jasmine is so proud of herself for keeping her kidney’s and the rest of her body happy.

New and Improved Joovy Groove Umbrella Stroller Review

Joovy Groove Umbrella Stroller Review

I’ve been through my fair share of umbrella strollers. Some have been better than others but none have been as awesome as our newest stroller, the Jovvy Groove. The rectangle aluminum frame is sleek and stylish, very modern and darn cute! The new and improved Joovy Groove umbrella stroller is gorgeous. The improved Joovy Groove is totally new, from the wheels up.

Joovy Groove

After a dreaded two straight weeks of rain I was excited to finally be able to take both of the kids out for a much needed walk. We were going stir crazy cramped in the house for so long. We all craved sunlight and dry ground. I was recently sent this Joovy Groove single stroller in Orangie. Isn’t the color so bright and vibrant?! Assembly was a cinch. I just snapped on the wheels, attached the canopy, did a little adjusting with the 5-point harness and that was it, we were off for our walk.

My son is 19-months old, about 27 lbs and growing like a weed. The maximum child weight is 55 lbs. This will most likely be the last stroller we ever use for him, it’s perfect, he loves it. Can’t you tell by the huge smile on his face?!

Joovy Groove stroler

The removable oversized canopy with covered viewing window is one of my favorite features. The large canopy really helps to keep the sun out of baby Sean’s eyes. I usually always keep the viewing window open, I like being able to see him while I’m pushing the stroller.

The Joovy Groove features unlimited recline positions, I can recline to 149 degrees. Baby Sean often falls asleep when he’s being strolled around. I like for him to be comfortable. It’s so easy to recline this stroller without even waking him up. The leg support is easily adjustable, too. It pulls up for little babies and can easily be folded down for older babies and toddlers. When my son is asleep and the stroller is reclined I like to pull up the leg support, he almost lays flat, he loves it.

I choice Organie because I wanted a color to fit my son’s bright and bubbly personality. It’s easily recognizable, especially in a stroller lot, like the lots at Disney, or most theme parks. My husband and I both wish we had this stroller during our most recent trip to Disney World.

Joovy Groove review

I really like the two mesh cup holders and large zippered pocket, plus the large basket at the bottom holds a lot, too. The Groove only weights 17 lbs. it’s so light and easy to carry. This stroller would have been ideal for Disney, so easy to fold and carry on and off the trams. I have nightmares thinking back to dealing with our last stroller on vacation. We lost a wheel in one of the trams we were on and when we got off the tram and unfolded the stroller we were shocked to see no wheel, total panic attack. It’s a long story, one I’d rather not get into.

The new and improved Joovy Groove umbrella stroller is hip, fun, sturdy, and very high-quality. I wouldn’t give this stroller up for another, it’s definitely part of our family now.

Tim Burton’s New Black and White Stop Motion 3D Movie Frankenweenie #DisneyMoviesEvent

March 24, 2021 by Tiffany Leave a Comment

Tim Burton’s 3D Movie Frankenweenie

Last night I got to live my Hollywood dream by walking the red, I mean white carpet for the premiere of Tim Burton’s new black and white stop motion 3D movie Frankenweenie. The premiere took place at the historic El Capitan Theater in Hollywood and the theme of the night was of course, black and white.

When the 25 of us arrived and crossed the street we were escorted between the barricade, crazed fans where on both sides of us and we walked through with our heads held high. As soon as our feet hit the white carpet were heard “Winona, Winona”, I peered over my shoulder and there, right in front of me stood one of my favorite actresses, Winonia Ryder. Winonia was standing in front of what seemed like 8,000 photographers and the flashes were going strong. It’s beyond me how someone can hold a smile for that long. I guess she has been at it for a long time, after all, she is a professional.

Check out the perfectly white carpet for the world premiere. The stars walked on the left and we walked on the right.

Frankenweenie premiere

The El Capitan Theater is amazing, very old Hollywood. The inside of the theater was so majestic and magical. There was an organist on the stage with his back turned to us playing music while everyone slowly made their way inside and took their seats. Before the movie started I ran out to the ladies room. Upon my arrival back into the theater I noticed Tim Burton, and upon a closer look I saw Catherine O’Hara, and Martin Landau sitting very close to me, I was starstruck.

Did you know Frankenweenie is based on an animated short Tim Burton made and released in 1984. At the time a full-length movie couldn’t be created due to budget constraints. I think it’s amazing that there were over 200 puppets and sets created for this film.

The voice cast includes four actors who worked with Burton on earlier films: Winona Ryder (“Beetlejuice,” “Edward Scissorhands”), Catherine O’Hara (“Beetlejuice,” “The Nightmare Before Christmas”), Martin Short (“Mars Attacks!”) and Martin Landau (“Ed Wood,” Sleepy Hollow”). Also, several of the character names, such as Victor, Elsa Van Helsing, Edgar “E” Gore, and Mr. Burgemeister were inspired by classic horror films.

All of these fabulous stars were in attendance at the after party. It was fun mingling among stars. I admired them from a very short distance, mostly I was in awe over all the talent in a single room.

I found Frankenweenie very relatable because it’s based loosely on Tim Burton’s childhood, makes it even more fun to watch. I’m pretty sure that most everyone has lost something, or someone who they loved dearly. It’s easy to relate to Victor’s sadness when his beloved dog Sparky died. This is definitely a film I plan on taking the entire family to see next month. Frankenweenie was released in the US on October 5th, it’s a great film to help get you in the Halloween spirit too.

Aside from pinching myself a few times to make sure I wasn’t still dreaming I had the time of my life. What an amazing experience, and one I’m sure I’ll never forget. Last night is going down in the history books for me. I’ve checked a few more things off my Life List too.

Make sure you’re following all the Frankenweenie fun on Facebook and Twitter hashtag #FRANKENWEENIE. Stay tune, I’ll post my full Frankenweenie review next week.

Disclosure: Disney provided me with a trip to LA in return for my honest review on the movies and events mentioned above. All expenses were paid by Disney and no other compensation was given. All experiences and opinions are 100% my own.
